Hi all,,

I know footsteps are covered elsewhere to some degree... But it is an important enough point to have its own heading...

Has anyone actually done the hard yards and got a satisfactory method for implementing credible footsteps that also change with the surface type... A method that can be easily used by others who are not so heavily into programming???

And does anyone know of an easy method to change eyeheight so that for different scaled maps the users viewpoint can be altered to match the scale...

And finally,, how can one change to and from fly mode by pressing a key rather than initiating a console command??? AND having a superman swishing sound to accompany the flight... Allowing for different speeds would be good also, similar to the slomo command but triggered by say pressing the number keys.....

I know these things are not easy to implement but maybe someone can share their expertise with the rest of us........... :)

You can press "f" in-game to switch from flight to running/walking.

http://udn.epicgames.com/Technical/PawnTricksAndTips covers changes you can make to your custom player character to make the eyeheight malleable. You could, say, add some code to a custom GameInfo that let you specify the desired playerscale in a LevelInfo variable.
