some ppl think its sick, i think its like mad awsome. i have no idea how; either it be texture effects, or maby something with the new particle system? but to have a player get shot and start to bleed and like blood run down form his now fleshy leg would be the coolest thing ever...and for the ppl who arnt big fans of ER and stuff cuasse they think blood is gross, it can be selected off.. (but seriously how can b blood be gross if ur life depends on it, and the undeniable fact that blood is all over u 24/7 all of ur life, just under ur skin? its a natural thing) , and many ppl would like to see more of it in the next unreal title!

Currently, people bleed to the point where if you just miss them turning a corner you can see blood still in the air. It doesn't seem to interact with the rest of the world, including the player it's bleeding from or other players/walls/floors. That would be cool.

o and leaving blood trails so ur hunter can follow and pwn u hiding behind a bush or something ... tee hee, what fun :)

There was a mut for UT99 that did that. The name? Why, "Blood Trails," of course! Catchy, huh?

I dunno if a spawnable volume of liquid blood is quite within reach yet.. and an animated decal might not look very good mixed in with all that high- poliness.

Physics- accurate blood spatter decals, from a weapon hit or something, is probably pretty easily doable. And would look really cool IMO. Think of a whole bunch of bright flecks left on the wall from a flak- prim direct hit.

That would be real cool, and it's similar to what CloudConnected suggested in his thread.

The bleeding should also be a good indicator that the player is low on health, so say you shot the player with the LG, and the player starts bleeding really bad, then you would know to switch to your finishing weapon quickly (minigun for me) and finish the player off quickly. And say if the player picks up health, the bleeding should be reduced or gone completely depending on how much the health the player picked up.

It would also be cool to be able to follow your opponents blood trails and pwn him...

I play with pretty low details, and have little trouble with that now.

I just think it's funny when people ask for features, I see the game as having.

There could easily be just blood decals, just like weapon fire decals now, and it wouldn't look too cheezy. The animation for "bleeding" is already there.

Probably want the focus to be more on it as a sport, and not a gorey video game.

I'm pretty indifferent. The sport aspect won't go away for me, but I do know realistic gore like that will attract noobs to the servers, that just want to see blood splattered everywhere, and not take the game as seriously.

I just think it would be cooler if the visual signs of damage were more specific and noticeable. Like putting a good flak hit on a character and having fluids splatter on the wall or on player next to him, then a slight drip afterwards depending on how badly the player was hit. It just would be nice if the hits looked more damaging.
IIRC didn't UT have decals behind the player if they got hit hard? a spatter?

Anyway yeah i'd like to see some more gore - better gibs, spattering, some blood spurts after being hit (but not continual, that'd give away the player's health to others).. more decals anyway.., anyway. Mean the game's just not as brutal as it used to be, sanitisation for mass media.

Problem is it can only be an M game..

LOL as long as its not overdosed as much as Mortal Kombat i'm fine with alot of gore... Most 2k4 does is with a big gib when all the gibbed body parts bounce around theres blood everywhere they touch

Up my ass
EA Sports fight night round 2 had flowing blood on the face of the boxer. It looked ok, but you could make it look awsome on UT2k7 i'm sure. I would be all for this.

The body or armor fluids don't have to be realistic. Just like how the current gibs are very unrealistic, but they have more entertainment value than watching realistic innards.

I don't see how people can take pub games seriously. Those types of people, sometimes, not only ruin the pub experience for themselves, but ruin it for others, aswell. Pub is about having fun, so I think the more immersive the experience the better.

Also, I don't see anything wrong with players showing more specific and consistent visual signs of weakness to other players, even though I'm not saying it would be better that way. It would just add another element to the game. It wouldn't work well with a game like ut2k4, but if ut2k7 is going to be less of a conservative game and less about control, then it wouldn't be a bad thing, imo.

hell yhea...and as for blood splattering on walls behind the player after he/she got shot (halfLife2) < hatred game="halfL1fe2">thats bull, u get shot up enough for innards to come out of u, and on too a wall would mean death realistically...</hatred>

I didn't say blood decals splattering on the wall behind someone's back.

Playing ut2k4 just doesn't make it feel like I'm playing a bloodsport. I shoot someone with flak and they barely show any believable signs damage. The hits just don't seem very impactful. I was thinking that maybe it might be a more immersive experience if when you shoot someone with a specific weapon, the character would show more specific, more detailed and more noticeable signs of damage. Maybe even have blood splatter onto my own character, if I'm in close proximity to my opponent.

But then I said that the game makers might not want to make this a very gory game.

I don't really care if there's gore or not, but it sure would be nice if characters showed more specific and noticeable signs of damage. An example would be: I shoot someone in the chest with a rocket and the character would have a black mark on his chest and a slightly blackened face or something signifying he got messed up with a rocket to the chest until a certain amount of time passes or until he gets his health replenished.

It may not seem like a big deal in ut2004. But if they change the messed up pov and fix player scaling in the next ut, it may add a lot to the game if characters looked like they are actually getting messed up after getting hit with a rocket to the face. The blood dropping behind players with 30 or less health was just a little extra idea that I posted 2/13ths seriously, just like most of my other posts.

If having blood flowing behind causes players with low health to get fragged more often, it wouldn't be a bad thing, but instead it would just be another element to the game. If the next ut is less about control of the map and weapons, then I don't see a reason for people to object to it.
