I didn't say blood decals splattering on the wall behind someone's back.
Playing ut2k4 just doesn't make it feel like I'm playing a bloodsport. I shoot someone with flak and they barely show any believable signs damage. The hits just don't seem very impactful. I was thinking that maybe it might be a more immersive experience if when you shoot someone with a specific weapon, the character would show more specific, more detailed and more noticeable signs of damage. Maybe even have blood splatter onto my own character, if I'm in close proximity to my opponent.
But then I said that the game makers might not want to make this a very gory game.
I don't really care if there's gore or not, but it sure would be nice if characters showed more specific and noticeable signs of damage. An example would be: I shoot someone in the chest with a rocket and the character would have a black mark on his chest and a slightly blackened face or something signifying he got messed up with a rocket to the chest until a certain amount of time passes or until he gets his health replenished.
It may not seem like a big deal in ut2004. But if they change the messed up pov and fix player scaling in the next ut, it may add a lot to the game if characters looked like they are actually getting messed up after getting hit with a rocket to the face. The blood dropping behind players with 30 or less health was just a little extra idea that I posted 2/13ths seriously, just like most of my other posts.
If having blood flowing behind causes players with low health to get fragged more often, it wouldn't be a bad thing, but instead it would just be another element to the game. If the next ut is less about control of the map and weapons, then I don't see a reason for people to object to it.
