AS-Rook (then all of the rest of the Assault maps), playing with the UE4 mod at a LAN party.

In all honesty, I think it was dm-citylights. The only real playable map Angelheart made for this game. Imo. For Vanilla UT.

    DM-Deck16][

The original Deck16 never hooked for me and neither did the official remakes

(also it's relatively one of the faster performing maps for 6th gen computer hardware in the day and it had the catchier song and it had every weapon)

DM-Hyperblast for me. As a kid I just found it fascinating to be able to fight on a spaceship flying at warp speed.

Either Facing Worlds or Bathroom for me. The former for its truly classic gameplay and how it made UT shine, and the latter for showing me just how open the map editor was and how much you could transform UT maps into whatever the hell you wanted, even it was just a giant shitter.

I liked the map for a while, but I always hated the fact that it didn't have any back entrance. Online you were pure sniiperbait. Iirc someone did make an edit of the map and did just that. But I can't remember the name... so many versions...

On UT99, first played on playstation, DM-Soroyama, with organic as the music. When I got the game on PC, DM-Barricade.
For UT2kx, DM-Osiris2. Don't know why, probably because I played it all the time and what got me hooked was the game itself, not the maps, at first.
And for Unreal1, Na Pali Haven.

DM-Gael and DM-Leviathan for UT2kx, since I've always had a thing for close-quarter DMs. Much like how the Titan Pack for UT3 had DM-Morbid (or maybe that was CTF-Morbid, can't remember), it seems those certainly brought a lot of that in. All in all, I've always been for compact, and ready for action types of maps.

The map that hooked me was CTF-Coret. That was one of the maps in the demo, if I remember correctly.

The thing that hooked me though was two-fold:

    1) downloading hundreds of Unreal maps and playing against bots; and
    2) the RealCTF mod in Unreal. So good.
