I'll make this short and ommit any of that cutesy/humorous/"Gryphon, I worship you" filler fluff I'm sure you've all had enough of.

I'm modelling a FA MAS:

I need info/pics/good old know-how on:
-the sights
-the fire selector switch
-the safety or whatever the hell that thing in front of the trigger is.

As soon as that is cleared up I can get started on skinning and animating.

P.S. I know I'm coming across like a dickhead bastard, but I'm not in a really good mood right now, just bear with me.

Thanks, any info would be useful.

The foresight is a half semicircle blade with the flat end facig towards the user. The rear sight is an aperture sight in a cube with two apertures for 300-500 meter and 0-300 meter shooting.

Ranging is via the selector dial beneath the sight labelled 3-4-5 (300-500 meters).

The switch is front of the trigger is the safety/trigger block/selector switch. Push forward halfway for semi, push all the way for full auto/3 shot bursts.

The burst cam switch is located below the stock, where you can select either 3-shot bursts or full auto.

Thanks, that'll come in handy when animating. One last set of questions:

1- I now understand how the sights on the FA-MAS work, but do you have any pics on how they look?

2- Does the cocking lever blow-back after every shot, or is it somehow disengaged from the bolt during fire?

Shak has personal experience with the FAMAS so I'll let him field the sight question.

As for the charging handle, apparently it is physically connected to the carrier system and recoils with every shot.

Heh, could you imagine if an M16 was as such? Ouch! /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Ah, that would explain why in the MGS:2 movie, the charging handle kept kicking back /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
