Epic Games is prepping a "huge" announcement for some time in the future, the latest issue of PC Gamer has teased.

Writing in the Spy section of its latest issue - which goes on sale today - PC Gamer writes that it knows "of one announcement Epic haven't made yet that is... huge".

The secret revelation could of course have something to do with the developer's recent "it's Unreal and it's almost here," tease, which briefly appeared on the Epic website before being pulled down.

Speculation ranges from a new Unreal game, Make Something Unreal contest action and more techy engine stuff. The last one probably wouldn't count as "huge" though, would it?

PC Gamer issue 208, which has an exclusive look at Realtime World's APB, is on sale now. Why not have it delivered to your door?

I read this on a few newswebsites like last week but didn't see it anywhere around here. If anyone has that latest PC Gamer; does it say any more?

Would it have to do with that pulled teaser of before? Could it be Unreal 3 or something like Gears 2 for PC? Speculate away, really.

Could it be somehow releated with Unreal Tournament's 10th anniversary...?

Why would they have pulled the teaser if it was for UDK, which was released shortly after?
I mean, if it was made to tease, they might've let it tease, as the actual thing was released what.. a week after?

/edit: didn't even think about the 10th anniversary thing. :) If it's related to that, I'm quite interested in seeing what it's about.

I really, really hope for ONE of those, in this order of hopes:

- patching up UT to its final stage: ie. compatible engine build to one in UDK
- making new modable game with all new prety stuff we have in UDK (and i hope its not GoW2 for PC)
- let us use UDK for making next UT game with UT3 assets

I bet they're partnering with Activision to create a UTMMOFPSRPG.

No dedicated server MMO. So you have to deal locked-down, with your own troubles.

Only for $80 US. It has things like Mouse support, in-game text chat, and of course, visual settings.

Oh right, that's the one most important feature I forgot to mention. Remember, only $80 USD.

Options:

A) Gears of War 3 or a game in the Gears Universe. Though I think this is unlikely if PCGamer is announcing it.

B) People Can Fly's new game. Technically they are part of Epic so any announcement from them would be from Epic. However, simply announcing details about a game that we already know is in development is not "huge" news.

C) New game in the Unreal series. 50/50 chance with this one I think.

D) Another brand new game series. I don't think they have enough staff/studios to be working on anything more though...

E) New non-XBLA Shadow Complex game.

It won't be anything to do with UDK/Modding. PCGamer wouldn't announce that as something "huge".

You are making a lot of sense with this post.

Partnering with Activision to make a peripheral-based UT game where you stand on a sphere with two dents for your feet and use it to move, simulating the action of moving your body to move your character, and the inevitable injuries that would come with fighting in the Tournament.

It also requires a lightgun modeled after the Trident, and artificially weighted to an appropriate weight. Both peripherals are required and cost $120 USD each.

Also, there are 10 maps being given out only for preorders, but unless you preorder from all 10 retailers, you'll never get them all.

I'd like to see Shadow Complex on PC and I think that would qualify as "huge" :)
