What kinds of worlds/levels do folks imagine making... just for its own sake?

I've been toying with the idea of a map roughly inspired by Dali's Metamophasis of Narcissus (this happened while walking around dali museum in st petersburg, fl). I also would like to consider connecting such an environment to several template art galleries... even if just conceptual... and perhaps add some fun interactive features for moving around.

Toss in a tram/train and some teleporters, and folks can easily gain a more rich experience than merely "spawning" in any given 3d frame of reference.

SO, similarly, I might try to integrate something completely diffferent, perhaps an egyptian museum theme.

hear hear ,, I heartily agree..

and seeing as how the engine is now small enough for any non mapping user to download, good maps would become popular...

The way is clear, but even when you have the plans in hand, it takes time and application to get the results....

Not all of us are exclusively into blood and guts and violence.. Though interestingly, it is the gaming industry that is the stimulus for vr development.... If it was in the hands of the architects and designers then we would not be anywhere near the level of development that has been achieved to date... And you would be paying thousands of dollars for slow inadequate software... The single most important facet of maps is the ability to have a real time experience, regardless of whether it is reality or fantasy based...

ah well ho hummm, one needs infinite patience, to wait for the real world to deliver what the mind conceives...
