(Sorry, putting my IT project manager head on).

How is the distribution on Friday gonna be handled?

Web Site download (zip/exe/umod)?
- What about bandwidth issues and server management if on web site download?

BitTorrent or some other file sharer?

Server download?

All of the above?


Also what time will it be available as well for those who have taken days off work to enjoy...

You should be able to download it from beyondunreal fileworks and most other big download sites.

Nay BeyondUnreal Fileworks offers about 5 solid download mirrors without having to sign up for any of them. Great stuff.

Bittorrent certainly seems the sensible way to distribute big files whilst minimsing the bandwidth demmand on the servers, which is what will slow the initial release.

Perhaps true if this was just the U2XMP community... the 2k4 community is several thousands of players larger tho. Too bad this couldn't have been on a few magazine CD's or something. Dial-up users are definitely sol... nobody seems to care about them anymore.
