"Across the Universe". Great song. "Strawberry Fields" is a close second, though.

Well, Paul/David/Mel, at this moment my favorite is "Don't Let Me Down", followed by "I am the Walrus."

'Julia', because it's beautiful. But then again I never was a huge Beatles fan.

I wish Lennon was still alive...

    ...so I could shoot him...

I have lived through 4 decades of younkers "discovering" the damn Beatles....when I was 5 I remember singing "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" on the school playground...that and getting stomped by a local gang and left for dead by the street, but thats another story...

...screw the Beatles...after 40 years of their songs I hate them.

A Day In The Life. Other beloved ones include I Am The Walrus, Strawberry Fields Forever, I Am The Walrus, Happiness Is A Warm Gun, I Want You (She's So Heavy) and Across The Universe. Oh, and the gorgeous medley in Abbey Road's second half.

edit - Did the Beatles ever even make a bad song? It is ridiculous how just about every song of theirs is a single, they are all so good! The songs stick with you forever too, they are so memorable. Even the ones I haven't heard in ages I can still easily recall and sing to myself in my head.

i have enormous respect for the beatles, but only one of thier songs i really like. that would be "Come Together." i have no idea what it is about or what it means but it has a cool beat to it. and it was good enough that aerosmith redid it, although i think that the beetles version is better.

Revolution 9 probably wasn't a big artistic achievement per se, but the Beatles probably were the first mainstream band to put some a sound collage of this kind onto a top-selling album. It's important in its very own way ;)
