I just got this good idea.

If they could somehow make a patch for UT1 that enabled textures bigger than 256x256, you could make maps for UT1 that looked way better than UT2k3. Because you CAN make static meshes for UT1 sortof, just get Mesh Maker, and make some crazy architecture, then make it into a mesh and shabang, you have high detailed meshes in UT1, plus if you JUST have bigger textures than 256x256 so you had to scale them down, it would look so awfully nice.

You can have 512x512 textures in UT! And up to 2-48x2048 in opengl (I think)
Meshes in UT are not practical at all for anything larger than a pickup or small decoration. They have circular collision, texture alignment is severely limited and the lighting was criminal. The lighting changes on the mesh depending which angle you look at it from which would make it ridiculous for any sort of architecture.
Oh yeah, and just to top it off, bots don't 'see' meshes and would try to walk through them!
