A while ago I found that an ATI/AMD card produces slightly different lighting build results, while an Nvidia card produces "correct" results, i.e. what one would expect when rebuilding a retail map's lighting.

The cards in question are a Geforce 8800 GTX (desktop PCI-E) and a Radeon HD5730 (laptop). Now that I'm mostly stuck with the laptop, is there any way to rebuild lighting with the Geforce results on the Radeon card?

Nope! When you rebulid the lights, engine loocking for informations in viewport and if graphic card has different rendering system he well write different lighting.
