I have a PII-300 with 128 megs of ram and a Voodoo 3 and it runs perfectly fine. it only seems to go slow when I try and use the Security Panels.
also FYI, the reason it's so much like SS2 is because the project leader worked on it.
I really don't mind the pistol, that's mostly because it reminds me of the PPG in Blade Runner. the Minicrossbow is kinda cool, especially since the tranq darts take time to work (at which point they start trying to run away, then they just collapse).
the LAM's are cool too, many a guard has fallen prey to my Gas bombs.
also I like the near useless items, like the "Chocolate" bar ("Choco-lent dream - it's food, it's people, it's both !"), you can also smoke a pack of cigarettes (the Poison icon you get when walking into toxic gas and such flashes for a few minutes). not to mention you can get drunk (by drinking a bottle of cheap wine you find), your vision gets blurred.
Also keep in mind, this is supposed to be more of an RPG than a shooter (despite the fact that the first two-thirds of the demo are spent shooting terrorists).
Personally I love the cool touches in the Dialogue, I played through it twice using a different skill-set. the first part is pretty much the same, but there were a few things different in the second part. so I decide to go off exploring in UNATCO HQ, seeing if I could get an exploration bonus, I end up going into the bathroom marked "Women" (keep in mind I was seeing if I could get a bonus for looking around), the person in there yells at me, I take off. Later on, I get a stern lecture during my briefing with the UNATCO chief about how unproffesional that was. which didn't happen in the first game, where I pretty much stayed on the regular path
