Hi I'd like to introduce you to a mod for UT2003 called Descent of Darkness. At current we are looking for people who are willing to help us in the development of the mod. In other words, we're looking for a team. We currently have a website under development, but it is not yet ready for public consumption. So just to get started here's some info:
Descent of Darkness (DoD) is a fast-paced class-based modification for Unreal Tournament 2003 (UT2K3), in the style of Weapons Factory (WF). DoD has Twelwe unique classes, each filling a special niche. Of these classes four are offensive, four are defensive, and four mid-field. However these are only the rolls they are designed for, and there is nothing to hinder using a defensive class for offence.
DoD is set in the Unreal Universe some fifty years after UT2K3. The Emperor has been overthrown, and humanity returned to power.
Classes (so far, ideas for the 2 remaining classes are welcome):
Offensive:
Scout, Agent, Psycho, Chemical Warrior.
Mid-field:
Marine, Sniper, Engineer.
Defensive:
Gunner, Miner, Medic
And now for the story (so far):
Fifty years have passed since the rise of a champion in the Tournament. The Emperor has been overthrown, but still he grasps a few planets spread out thru out human space. However for the newly freed human race, the seventy years of imprisonment have not been without benefit. During The Emperors hasty retreat, several major research projects were left behind, and have since been perfected by man.
But as nothing stays the same for long, so has the tournament been for a long time been dominated by teams, but teams without order or rank. This was however changed when The Liandri Corporation, surveying asteroids for minerals, came upon a race of unknown origen. The Xar Tar'goth as they call themselves where quickly subdued and forced to fight in the Tournament. However as they had done on their home world, The Xar Tar'goth created highly organized teams of specialists. Thus shortly after they were ruling the Tournament.
Seeing the effecinency of the Xar Tar'goth many other teams began using similar tactics. Soon the way of fighting in the Tournament was changed. No long was the idividual important, the team was now the most important thing. Thus the Tournament was once again changed.
However the disappearance of the Xar Tar'goth colony did not go unoticed...
