The Desert Eagle is not so much an inherently unreliable weapon as an inherently picky weapon; it has to be fed the exact right brand of ammunition and held exactly right when firing, or it will jam horribly.

I've checked out the Deagle at a gun show, and it had a flaw that was immediately obvious. It's a bit too big and clunky. There's no way I could reload it with one hand, and I'm not confident about shooting it one-handed either. If I want a two-handed weapon I'll take a rifle, thank you. Any pistol of mine had better stay within the measurements of the FN BDA 9mm.
