    I've downloaded some non-stock maps from servers I have played on. I play on these maps, I don't have to re-download them if I join a server running them, but they are not in my map list when I look to create a LAN server.

    How do I get the custom maps to be selectable when I'm creating a server?

    although your avatar is increidbly stupid, i will help you! 1 way is to actually go into your u2xmp folder, look for Cache folder, and open those files in notepad. the name of the map is in the first line. Simply rename the file to that name. Im at work, but when i get home if noone has helped you more, i will post on where to look and how to do it. There are also some programs that automaticly do this for you and cleans your cache putting these files in the right area.

    Does that way always work reliably? I had trouble doing that a couple of times. Opening in Unrealed and resaving as the map file seemed to work better, although it does take extra work.

    I would recommend against opening and resaving a map in UED. You might end up with version conflicts. I usually go through my cache manually.

    OMG Towie you actually changed your avatar to the tomato preserve :lol:
    Yeah, use the cahce folder and copy the maps out with the right name. There's also an ini which matches all the files to their real name.

    i don't use the Cache eporter... i use the directly list of files, and the list of cache entriest o get the custom maps into my install from my cache.

    here's a sample cache file with 3 files in it...
    Code:
    [Cache]
    1E875568428E3C0522A216BC648110CA=XMP-CBP-BETA-Emerald.unr
    19B483A94D873F6CE9372B890924568D=FriendlyFire107.u
    15C107514A518CC4CDB10D838202B638=XMP-Dune-RGB.unr
    with this info i know that the file,
    19B483A94D873F6CE9372B890924568D.uxx is FriendlyFire107.u

    the ut cache exporter is just a very simple reader of the cache.ini file.

    Note A: i asume that the filetype is uxx, because that is the default extension, but it could be whatever is assigned by your ini file.

    Note B: if you have had your install for a while your cache.ini will get tons of invalid entries... so i recommend that you check the number of lines tot he number of files in the directory... it should always be the same as the directory files.
