CTF-Sabr [Updated to: V1.1] [Final] [Pics]

Name:
CTF-Sabr

Version:
1.1
* Plz replace any previous PC and PS3 versions(including the fast test version for that connection bug) with this one
* I fixed a serious bug that you can't access server to play this map in V1.1
* I feel sincerely sorry for all the incovenience caused by me

Compatibility:
PC, V1.3
PS3, Patch2

Description:
Sabr is the Islamic virtue of "patience" or "endurance". It is characterized as being one of the two parts of faith (the other being shukr). Its practice is endorsed in both the Qur'an and the sunnah. Muslims scholars have attempted to classify the concept, and one classification divides it in two parts: to actively or passively endure physical challenges, and to remain spiritually steadfast.

Comments:
1) This map was originally designed for UCMP5
2) UCMP5 was cancelled, so this map can be released individually
3) The very first layout was based on a concept about railway in the middle and trains go by. That turned out to be not really nice so I changed it a lot. Now it is a quake-ish jumppad-based layout, with islamic environment

Damn, that looks cool.

Never been a fan of maps where it's so easy to fall off, though. As a flag runner you've already got your work cut out for you. Not being able to survive a single rocket that does only moderate damage but pushes you off the edge doesn't help at all. :(

But that's speaking from past experiences only since I'll never play this. D:

Yeah, UT3 doesn't really understand the concept of inertia given that you can completely reverse your direction in midair with relative ease. D:

How about a CoD4 port? :p

I wasn't a big fan of the beta but the changes seem to have been for the better. This a really nice map, great job.

Hey hold up everyone, someone in the official forum told me he got online connection error with this map, I gotta check it ASAP.
Any of you can help me to confirm it and give me some details? I have no time on this till this noon, which is in 2 hours.
Thanks in advance!

OK, so don't download for the moment.
I am looking into this problem.

This noon, I did a couple of tests and what I found was:
- For some unkown reason, there is an "A_Music_Arrangements.upk" in my "Published\CookedPC\Sounds\" folder. I found the same file also exsiting in the related sub-folder under "Unpublished". I didn't remember I ever made any change to this file or manually copy it to any of both folders, so really weird
- I set up a server without this file in the "Published\CookedPC\Sounds\" folder, yes, I reproduced the connection failed bug.
- So I deleted this file for both published and unpublished folders on my local PC, and open the editor, whoops, nothing happens, the map didn't care about the deleting at all.
Then, I just re-cooked the map without changing anything. The new cooked version had a slightly different size as the old one.
- I set up a new server with the new version and this time the connection was OK.

So, it seems for some unkown reason, the map (the old one) referenced a sound file in the published/unpublished sub-folder rather than the same one in the installation sub-folder.

Here, the new "testing" version for PC, plz help me to test it ASAP to see if the connection problem is really fixed:

As for PS3 version, I have no idea if the same problem exsits. I will re-cook it for PS3 too if the new PC version proved working.
Tonight I will do more test, and I am very very sorry for it!

In theory that bug have been fixed as I tested on two servers and both working, but since Ironhorse reported this bug, it would be perfect if he can verify this fix. From yesterday, I keep trying to reach him.
Also more verification is really welcome.
I will wait till this afternoon and if no further progress I will consider it as fixed and give you the new links.
Sorry for any inconvenience, I would like to solve it ASAP.

Looks really nice. Is this the only map out of UCMP5 that's been released? I swear I saw another one but maybe that was the beta thread for this map?
