So today my mom is checking her payments, and she finds a bunch of dating website memberships being charged on her credit card. She still has the credit card which means someone working somewhere had to have copied it down and used the info to register on these websites.

They're registered on the atlastwemeet.com, americansingles.com, and hurrydate.com and the ages and locations they registered as are scattered throughout the East County. On of them says she is from El Cajon and is 21, the other says she's from Lakeside and is 24.

This seriously makes me think, "Who the **** is dumb enough to register online with a credit card?" I mean this person is sooo busted it's not even funny. I wish I had hacking skills, I'd totally send you all to harass this bitch. I'm gonna find out who this is though.

I WILL update this thread. This is war.

How do you know that any of the names/accounts/identifying information is accurate? I know if I registered something with a stolen credit card, I would use the name on the card and a false address.

Be careful when using your credit card, many online shopping sites donot good at security. They often store customer's information such as credit card in their database, when hackers exploit some bug they can be stolen :(

I actually just had my credit card number stolen. Apparently a list of CC numbers in the Mastercard database was 'compromised'. They cancelled my old account, made a new one, and sent me a new card. Thankfully nothing was charged to my account. Just a minor annoyance really.

GL with catching the bastards Peavey.

This is why a card like Discover is a good one to have for internet transactions. Discover has disposable pseudonumbers, where 1 credit card number is linked to your master credit card number, and it can only be used once. Then, when you want to do more transactions, you use a utility to randomly generate another one.
