UE3 - UDK Create seperate selections in static mesh editor

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Right now I have a skeletal mesh which when i go into static mesh editor is one material when I select the mesh. If I wanted to add another material I would have to have another option. I want the mesh to have red eyes but its only one material. How would I create a separate selection for the eyes?

Either export the mesh you have into a modeling program like 3DS max to give it a separate material ID, then re-export that and import it into UDK, or get a material that has red eyes in the right place and apply that.
