Console Vs. PC

I don't mean to beat a horse to death....AGAIN buuuuut I was reading on MSNBC and found this article. I don't want to get Lurk's blood pressure any higher but this seems to cover what is going on. Of course, it's one person's opinion.

And what a bull**** about pcs not being good enough for the latest games. My PC is 3.5 years old and I can play Cod4......ok no crysis but 3 years is long enough.

Consoles require a PC architecture to work at all... so PCs will never truly die.
Besides; PC users spending hundreds on upgrades every year will generate too much cash for companies like Nvidia, MS, etc., for them to completely support consoles enough to wipe out PC gaming.
That's not even considering the major advantage of networking that PCs have over consoles.

Nah; I'm not worried about PC gaming dying for some time.

Idk lol, i mean I know you guys are hardcore PC gamers, but from playing both computer games and console games UT is prolly the only game that I would rather play on the computer than on console. There are some games too that are only for PC that are great but i never really got addicted to them. I mean look at what happened when Epic tried to make a console game for computers, It doesn't work that way lol

Another thing is that like Lurk said computer gaming is not gonna Die anytime soon, and your console is like a nice computer designed specifically for gaming. There are still great games for the PC like Guildwars and WoW which create a huge audience, but I think eventually money in the gaming industry will switch over to consoles...

Another reason why PC gaming won't die anytime soon is the XBOX. Its programming is far too similar to a PC's that a developer would be crazy NOT to make an XBOX game available on PC. I also seem to recall that Microsoft wanted to make the XBOX a game machine with PC capabilities. If that's the case, it seems to me like it won't be too long before you will be able to play XBOX games on your XBOX or PC--whichever you feel like.

Suppose the only thing we can do now is invest money into a Console. Next question. Which one is Best? Is tehre a new version coming down the road? What about WII?

I like online play with my buddies, co-op, team play etc.
