Just watched the movie...and don't know what to really say. What possibly could anyone gain from doing something like that to another human being? Especially to someone who clearly has no hand in any actions of violence or cruelty but is in the country to help them to rebuild communications towers...
I guess one has to trust in Darwinism to prevail in the end or something..

You invaded "their" (if they are Iraqis and not just terroists from outside) country and now they try to pull you out. How do you pull out the strongest army of the world? I think through the media.
The media is a greater enemy for the US war against Iraq than the iraqy army was imo.

Such stuff will continue, why did they threaten to burn some Japanese? Because it is pretty cruel and unhuman. Then more and more people will say "bring our sons back". It's a catch, it's Catch-22 for politics ...

To the best of my knowledge they aren't claiming to be Iraqis but acting under al-Zarqawi, who is IIRC Jordanian and a long standing ally of OBL. In the submitted statement, threats are made against Musharraf and pakistan also, for example, a clear indication that the perpetrators are not part of the 'Iraqi resistance' but rather run of the mill islamist extremists who happen to have jumped at the occasion to give their operation an air of legitimacy. With some success it would seem

They claim to have done it in retaliation for the recent Iraqi prisoner abuse photos, because, you know, being forced to pose in sexual positions naked is really akin to having your head cut right the **** off.

There is nothing to gain from watching that video. You already know the facts, so unless you are interested in seeing a person die (and a lot of people are for many valid reasons) then there isnt much point of seeing it.

Its a shame when stuff like this happens, but it happens all the time, all around the world. I feel very sorry for his family and friends, its a terrible thing to happen to anyone (of any nationality). Lets just hope this mess gets cleared up at some point...
