Welcome,

I have decided to give a short summary of what our team is been working on lately.

DA2 has finally taken a shape and most of the plans after a ton of discussions and arguments have been finilized. We are aware that after Beta 1 there will be alot of changes such as the introduction of aliens (most possibly) as well as vehicles.

DA2 Beta 1, when released, will help us balance the weapons and polish included features.

Anyway,

[Maps]
We are aiming to have at least 6 maps in Beta 1. You must know that the maps are not so stream lines as they were in DA:UT and that offline play is very challenging sometimes. [D]estructor, Fluxs and Nick are our main mappers and they all work closely with the code to finilize map gameplay and objectives.

Code:
Tons of weapon balancing. Trying to keep the game realistic but also fun.

Additional features such as the 'Mission Update Box' (MUB) which will be shown to the player when an objective is accomplished or a critical event is occured.

The implementation of AMI (Alliance Military Intelligence). Custom Female-AI sounds that will provide good enough information during the battle field. When health is running low, ammo, or grenades you will hear her and also when other events occur.

Ending matinee scenes per team. When a map ends players will get rewarded (or not if they lost) with a cool cutscene made by our mappers. Still yet to be coded but definitely in our plans for Beta 1.

A new turret which will be redesigned and it will be automatic. Current status are unknown.

[Sounds]
In certain cases a single sound can become boring, so we are trying to implement like 3-5 sounds for each occasion such as Melee hits or grenade explosions. The code randomly picks the sound. Not a hard thing to do by anyone but really adds a lot to the gaming experience.

[Music]
Good old action music and in most cases using UT200x soundtracks. They fit great some of our maps.

[Graphics]
Emitters, custom explosions, custom muzzles and fully custom animated models will be supplied. Animations for reload, melee and even chat per weapon category (maybe for taunts as well), no stream lined single anims. Custom karma physics simulate realistic deaths better and provide unique battlefield experience.

Leave comments,

Enjoy ;)
