i suppose you had to have played those games as a kid to appreciate them, i've downloaded all the "classic" RPGs for the snes and they all bored the ass off me.

I've been with the US releases of the Final Fantasy series from when the first one was on the market. I played through them all ('cept tactics), and enjoyed them, but was never able to get my hands on Chrono Trigger. I think was was drooling over the stuff on it in Nintendo Power for months. The game apparently has extraordinary replayability, due to the numerous ways that it can be gone through. With the FF series, good as each entry may be, they are only truly enjoyable the first, maybe second time through.

I'm not saying that YOU have to enjoy it. I did however want to talk to some people that did. Apparently there are few here who have even touched it, and they didn't like it. I guess I'll just have to find out what it is like on my own.

FF all the way

Ever tried Quest 64? It was horrible. The game was about as linear as one could possibly get, which is exactly what to avoid in an RPG. It also gave the player only one character, and little control over character development, forcing the player to specialize almost entirely in a given area or be forced to start over from a sucky character.

That, and other misfortunes have made me cautious in buying any games until I've had either a good look at them or trust the franchise.

Secret of Mana looks good, though.

Dai: Sorry, I misunderstood.
