  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Hey there,

hope this is in the right place :)

Wondering if you guys would know anything, or have any ideas about how to get 2 custom character in engine (unreal 3) to morph from one to the other with smooth transitions or a sort of "growth".

I've been doing a bit of research and have seen it asked on the epic forums once or twice with no reply, and have only been able to find documentation about skeletal morphing or in context to vehicles.

Thanks alot if anyone can help out!

Ok so, no one?

Ive found a few things. kinda vague though! If anyone is interested.

Gears of war 2: final boss thing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNgGl_E2UvE (skip halfway through)

"One of the last challenges was to create the transformation of the Lambent Brumak. This was done by creating morph targets from the modified Brumak that roughed out the transitions. The morphs were then keyframed in the Unreal engine. "

Also:
http://www.dougoberndorf.com/abht.pdf shows a simple human to hulk. I will go through this later.

Batman arkham asylum:

The Titan transformation was a technical challenge for us that required a combination of morphs, bone scaling, mesh swaps and animated shaders, as well as some crafty camera cutting. We were really happy with the end result that seamlessly blends from the generic henchman through the transformation process to the Titan Infected Henchman model.
