Hi,
I've got huge problems with any type of CD-ROM or DVD-ROM on my rig. Today I was burning a DVD using nero and I accidently clicked on burn disc in another program (I was setting it up to go straight after nero had finished). I got an error message device already in use and nero stopped burning and crashed, so I closed nero but was unable to open the DVD-Rs drive. hoping to slove this I did a re-boot and now every CD/DVD-ROM (both physical and virual) no longer shows in my computer and has this error message in device manager:
"Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device"
Unsuprisingly the troubleshooter dose not help/. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the hardware, uninstalling then reinstalling, rebooting and I'm now stuck. It muxt be a windows issue as the devices are reconised in BIOS and the virtual devices do not work. Oh I'm running XP Pro with SP2
Cherrs
