Carry the Flag for UT3?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. Someone mentioned a while back that Carry the Flag WAS made for UT3, but it's called something else. Well, no amount of googling has helped me find it, if it does indeed exist, so I ask you guys! Does it really exist? If so, what is it called and where can I get it?

I love Carry the Flag for UT99 because it actually makes CTF fun. Stock CTF, where all you have to do is touch your flag to INSTANTLY TELEPORT IT BACK TO BASE is so incredibly retarded I don't know how I ever tolerated it back before I tried Carry the Flag. Having to actually rush your own flag back to base under fire is all kinds of fun and makes defense a LOT more interesting, not to mention having the ability to take your own flag off its pedestal and bring it to a friendly player with the enemy's flag to score midfield. So much more fun and exciting, and it actually becomes possible to score on maps where previously it would take hours to get a single cap! Marvelous!

(DISCLAIMER: I realize that stock CTF might be better for online play with/against humans, but Carry the Flag is totally superior against bots who suck at teamwork)

So, does this mod really exist for UT3? I basically haven't played CTF in UT3 because I hate it so much without Carry the Flag and I really want to give it a shot, especially VCTF. I just can't stand the goddamn flag-teleporting mechanics of stock CTF.

If this actually DOES exist and whoever mentioned it wasn't full of ****, then the author certainly needs to publicize it some more! Or at least make it possible for us to find :p

Wait, I take it back - I *do* remember seeing this. I remember specifically there being a mutator which allowed it, and allowed players to carry both their own flag and the enemy flag at the same time.

I'll be bollocksed if I can remember where it is though.

Oh HELL YES, that looks and sounds exactly like what it should be. If it has the midfield scoring capability of Carry the Flag I'm gonna be so pumped.

And I'm really surprised that with my searching I never found it, especially if that's its name :p

[Edit] God damnit, download doesn't work. I hope this "system maintenance" is indeed temporary and not something that's been there for months.

EDIT: Looks like [Apoc]Death is working on a Carry the flag mutator, and his looks more up to date with features you're interested in. It doesn't look like they're hosting it as a separate download anywhere that I could tell, but if their testbed server is still up, maybe you can download it that way? Appears the last update there was June 1. Damn.

I'm also thinking that the first link isn't coming back.

Looks like I'm gonna have to start PMing some folks over on the EpicGames forums and see who has it! Thanks for your help BlackLeaf :)
