cant install

my friends dl jb2004 and put it on a cd for me. now i click on it on mine and i get this

Hmm -- I'm not entirely sure what could cause this problem, but try moving Jailbreak2004a.ut4mod out of that "D:\Jail break" directory into one which doesn't have a blank in its name -- it might be that the UT4Mod installer is particular about such things.

well, in attempt to copy it off the disc it says

cannot copy JailBreak2004a: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)

i havnt a clue. i will try a new umod thing later

There is a possiblity that the disc (uk spelling ) hasn't been 'closed' properly after burning. This used to be a regular problem about 2 years back. Is the burning drive a Lite-On by any chance?

Actually we say 'disc' for CDs and DVDs in the US as well. but floppies are disks.

Hi Sir T - well I honestly never new that. Sent some stuff off to be published a while back and they had changed ALL my spelling to US

May I ask why for floppies? Is it an acronym?

Anyway to back on subject anyone know if this guy solved his problem?

his burner is pretty new. baught it within the new year. but when he burns discs he doesnt let them varify. should he

I hate to get horribly off-topic but read Webster's entry for "disk" if you want to see how Americans spell it in a few common situations. I've thought about this for some time just now and I can't figure out anything other than that we just randomly use disk or disc for various things. It's usually very consistent for a particular kind of object, but there doesn't seem to be any reasoning behind which one is used.
