Tickets for Tool's May 12 show at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis, MN went on sale today at noon and it appears that they sold out w/in 15-30 seconds, just like the rest of the shows. :( Since the Orpheum seats only 2700, I knew tickets would go quick, but I tried by phone and Internet and got a busy signal with each call and an online message that said, basically, no tickets were available via the Ticketmaster online search method. So let's hope they go to Europe and come back and play arena shows, hopefully the Metrodome, then hopefully some rafters pranksters will unfurl a big Kent Hrbek banner in front of Tool while they're playing.

yeah, scalpers ruin these events. they might be tied into organized crime and somebody fronts them a crapload of money to buy tickets.

i tried to do a similar scam once at a movie theater where i wanted to buy up all the popcorn seeds but they wouldn't sell them to me because i didn't have an official Candy Man badge.

Isn't price hiking illegal?
I also thought they limit a ticket buyer to a certain amount of tickets to prevent this from happening.

I think you're right about the price hike. It's "supposed" to be illegal to up the price of the ticket beyond face value, but I can’t help but wonder.

I don’t know if every event has a set limit how many tickets one person can purchase. Logic tells me that scalpers find a way to get around rules.
