I have been discussing this on the german forums, too. Now I would like to know your opinions about the bulk system.
It is a good idea, but right now you do not get punished enough, if you are running around with 5 weapons in your loadout.

In order to test the bulk system I made a 73 bulk loadout. But I could run around as fast and nearly as long as with a loadout with just 20 bulk.

What is your opinion ?

I regularly switch between a loadout with 12 bulk and one with 44. The speed and stamina differences are barely noticeable.

I created a 90 bulk loadout, and my speed was cut down to about 2/3 of my normal loadouts. The stamina was pretty good though- it just limited my max stamina to my remaining bulk level, so I had to stay in the dark orange. I agree that it should affect your speed more, with all that crap I was carrying, running at all without falling over would be difficult.

Bulk system should perhaps have an exponential effect? That way, the first 20 or so bulk will not matter too much, but once you hit something like 30, it's gonna start to really drag you down.

I like Dracil's idea. I think that the more bulk youn have, the more each 1 point of bulk should effect you.

I also definately think that the bulk system as it stands now doesn't make enough of a difference (though it's a good start).

I rarely notice a dfference between my "light" and "heavy" loadouts - something must be done about this. I also agree with the idea of an exponential decay in speed in relation to bulk.

I did extensive testing on this by making different loadouts and sprinting down the rifle range. It seems you can always run for the same amount of TIME before you run out of breath, but you're slower, so you don't get as far. This is all well and good, but going from 0 to 125 bulk only cuts your speed in half, and that's just not enough. A guy should be able to run 3-4 times as fast with nothing as a guy who's carrying 2 SMGs, 2 assault rifles, an HK69, a Benelli, 2 sidearms, and a ****load of grenades and ammo. The second guy shouldn't be able to run at all IMHO ;) .

If it's stupid, but works, it isn't stupid.
