Broken Nexus : Horror Mod.
Broken Nexus
The year is 2643 AD TSY (Terran Standard Year)
The setting is Research Station 374H (RS: 374H)
-Location: In orbit of Hel (Rich mineral resource to neighboring planets); A small human colony exists on the surface - Terran Resource Colony 003
-On board of RS:374H, developmental projects were in progress for the advancement in exploration, science and military applications. Its most industrious project, the Nexus engine (acquiring it's name from it's own function), which has the capability to take two points on a spatial plane and "link" them by a single point. After "linking" the points, the host vessel moves to the desired location through the established nexus.
-During an experimental test, the near completed engine automatically engaged all safety precautions and enabled its linking process. The trial had run smoothly in the beginning, until an unaccounted for malfunction . The cooling system was the first to succumb to the stress, as the tanks ruptured and coolant leaked out. Afterward the engine itself began to overheat and Xeta radiation iminated from the engine's core. Any living tissue the Xeta waves came in contact with became altered....
-Those that were on the outter areas of the station, and just outside the Xeta radiation's reach, faced the their own problems. The mishap of the engine was not limited to the inabitants of the station. The "surviving" inhabitants began to make distress calls to the colony on Hel. The station's onboard computer systems cut the signals off mid-transmission and dispatched some of the station's defensive Centurion robots that were affected by the Xeta waves.
-Garbled messages were recieved by the sensors on Hel. Since the messages were questionable, and there wasn't further communication from the station, a rescue team was sent out to RS: 374H. No unusual signs came up as the small rescue team surveyed the hull of the station. They docked with the station and entered the docking bay, only to find blood spatter, but no bodies. As the team moved out in a search pattern formation, the pressure door opens and the entire team is pulled out into space.
- A deep space supply and repair frigate leaves a previously marooned supply carrier and makes way to their next routine stop on their schedule, RS: 374H. Then crew takes a breather before prepping the equipment and schematics.
-The frigate docks with the station after an automated respons signal replies to their initial hailing.
