reconsidering, i believe the name for my server is acceptable. and furthermore, i believe your boycott won't hamper all those thousands i make by providing this server to the inf community
do you honestly think i look to make a mockery of cancer--especially when it would be so much easier (and fun) to make a mockery of your indictment of my server's name? it's a metaphor, genius! it's a freakin' similitude. it bears no likeness to an actual tumor, because tumors, in and of themeselves, don't "throb"! they possess only two states of being: they either grow, and are considered malignent; or they remain fixed, and are referred to as "benign."
i would also like to point out that we're talking about a game here--and not just any type of game, but a game which models itself from "realism"; a game whose simulated killings take place not upon mythical locations called "HyperBlast" or "KGalleon", but on maps called "Kosovo" and "Kazakhstan"--wartorn locations where real people lost their lives. locations that stand at the fore of many people's thoughts when they think of senseless bloodshed, maiming, torture and war...
perhaps you should look at the nature of the game you play before you criticize the name of my server. and maybe while you're at it, ask yourself how it is that you could be so "pc" about an ailment like brain cancer, yet so insensitive about KILLING people--and we're not talking about killing folks with "pulse rifles" and "flak cannons" that exist in fictional, futuristic worlds--but with realistically modelled weapons, weapons that injure women and children with far more prejudice than a fatal disease.
of course that's not to say that if you play realistic combat games that you must be a malicious, insensitive animal. in fact, i believe most people recognize that infiltration is, in fact, just a game--just as most folks wouldn't take offense to the server's name.
so don't come play at throbbing tumor. you won't be missed. besides, we're looking for folks who want to come and have fun, not dissect the frivolous name of a game server. we who do play there have too many other worries in our live's than taking the time to insult you, or make fun of something as devestating as cancer. lighten up, dude. and have fun! life's too short to take time to criticize something so obviously meant to be fun--it's a freakin' game server for crying out loud!!
