Bot Paths - i have no idea what im doing.

As in the subject title, i have no idea what im doing when it comes to pathing bots for unrealED 3 (ut2003)

im pretty sure that a bot path is called a "node", i dont know what that means, or why its called that.. but hey, i didnt make the program. :)

so, can anyone help me out, give me some simple tips on were to start.

[My Life Story so far :p ]
what ive got in mind is, im making a pretty small (one room) map just to get the feel of unrealed. the map im making seems to becomming pretty good, im impressed with the power of UT2003, so im wanting to add bots into it.

i want to make the bots go towards a centerl point of the map, and try to stay there. they only want to leave this point to get ammo or dodge (as i said, its a small map, really small. 1536x1536). so my questions are.

1) how do i make the bots try to hold down the centre of the map

and

2) how do i let them know that the lava in the map is going to kill them, therefor try to get to the closest land.

What u ask I have no clue...even though I know how to map... but I map for the purpose of letting the bots run around and frag anyhting else that moves... and if they fall in lava or slime well poor them no problem they re-spawn and get their ass kicked or kick ass either way....

ok here is the genral jist I think you may need AI scripts.... with those basically I think you can command the AI to do what u please except for an illict non unreal related acts... also maybe some triggers or something to define where the bots should go and where to hang out....

but mainly to get a bot to move... just add pathnodes and some thng for them to move to ie flak cannon health etc...

hope this gets you on the right path oh I hope you didnt mind my bits of sarcasm
hopefully someone with better knowledge of AI will stop here and give u the right info
