heres the thing it's not about ppl not liking australia. it's about a terroist group making a statement. Either they don't like capitalism, Democracy, the U.N., or backstreet boys. An attack on a major international event would throw their cause into the spotlight. Don't forget there will be many americains there too ,lots will be important ppl in the USA gov. It would be very easy for Bin Laden ,or any other guy with a rag on his head, to release a nerve agent into the air close to sydney causing a serious dent in population. But when a country is thrown into the worlds eye they tend to pull out all the stops. I wouldn't expect the aussies to not throw millions of dollars towards securing sydney. Also i'm sure the U.S., the U.K, and every other country involved in the olympics will provide some type of asistance to try and keep sydney as safe as possible.
