I wonder what causes the INF guy's feet to sink into the floor sometimes. In one picture, I'm missing my feet. In the next, I'm fine. Maybe that's why headshots are sometimes misses! The guy is 6 inches lower than he should be!

neg. it happens when you are crouched and get back up. It's like if the center of the body was, at first after you stand up, too low. As soon as you start walking, you get back up to the right level.

errrm, actually i think you always sink a bit if you are standing still... standing or crouching or proning...

Hill bug occurs when you go prone on a slope. The 3rd person view of you, ie what everone else sees, sees you moving down the slope or below where you actually are. If the shoot at this image they can't hit you. If you move though it goes back to normal then starts again.

I have been out of it so long I can't remember if this is an issue or not.

It is an issue. I don't know what Odie did to his servers, but people now Hillbug at 1cm per second. So in a minute on a slope, they seem to be displaced about 60 cm which is a significant decoy to have people completely miss you. It's amazing that the hillbug can't seem to be fixed. Why does UT keep "guessing" where a player will be? Why can't it just leave players where they are until it recieves movement data!

There is a "hillbug fix" code in INF2.9 but it obviously isn't working too well. A "force player to move every 10 seconds" mutator would negate any chance for a camper to become hillbugged, but that would also annoy the hell out of campers who are trying to aim.

btw, the hillbug isn't just when you're prone - as long as you're standing still, it can happen. I've actually seen it happen on flat ground before, off a spawn - a person will just start to slide in one direction.

Yeah, I watched people standing still. They sink 1cm per second into the ground up to their ankles. Pretty funny stuff! "I'm melting! I'm melting!"

@Freon: I think I know why you love my sig :) I love that command room.
