bdbmapvote3 section in UnrealTournament.ini file

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

I have noticed that administrative changes made to mapvote are not persistent if the server is stopped and restarted. Is there an explanation for what each line in the bdbmapvote3 means? I am trying to keep people from voting for the same map over and over again. I make the change in-game and if I have to restart the server I lose it. I would like to make the changes permanent by editing the ini file directly. I saw a line that said repeatlimit. Is that it?

Yes, increasing the RepeatLimit should do it.

I don't know why your server isn't saving the settings, It is supposed to save the changes to the ini.
Are you running linux ?
How are you stopping the server or did the server crash ?

I think, the settings are actually saved to the ini when the
server unloads the current map.
So, try changing the settings then do a server travel , then
stop the server and check the ini.

Thanks for the reply. I administer a server at Metroclan.com. It is running on a Windows NT virtual server. It retains the setting from map to map. I can shut down the server through a web interface they provide and I am not sure how the shutdown function is scripted. But now that I know what line to change it will be permanent. I have noticed that if I make changes to other things through the web admin interface they aren't retained at server shut down. My solution so far has been to edit the ini directly.

Again thanks for the reply.
