Erm, well I was told today by my boss that I'm needed on the other side of the country quite urgently, so I'm off there on Monday... I probably won't have an internet connection while I'm there, and will likely only come back next weekend.

This means there's not likely to be a patch before the Grand Finals, since upon my return I'll have a whole 1 week to get my stuff ready for the final deadline.


Really sorry, but there's not a lot I can do about it :rolleyes:.


I'm sure the team members can keep you entertained with lots of exciting screenshots of new maps and features in the mean time though... ;).


Team guys - please keep testing the version you have, submit bugs and stuff to the tracker, and I'll try to sort as much stuff out as possible when I get back...

That stinks :p, well anyway there is still work to be done ;) , can i get a list of all the maps that have been updated, or the names of the .rars of the most uptodate versions of everyones maps so i can make a rar that has all the newest maps to put in the beta testers folder on the ftp (all team members should download this too) for testing and I will also set up the test server with everyones new maps so they all can be tested online. I dont know about everyone else but i was waiting for shrimp to release the patch before installing everyones new maps but we cant do that anymore so i plan to make a rar that has all the most uptodate patch and maps ect.. as kinda a internal "full" patch and we can test from there till shrimp is back. Sound Cool??? :)

Dang, that really sucks. Maybe if you work hard at it, you'll be able to get out some form of the patch in time for MSU? I hope you end up with a connection where you're going... :'(
Remember, release a beta and you'll have lots more testers...

Is the last phase the Game licence or can you still win cash for 1st, 2nd and 3rd?

Another screenshot of my mini, the outside shell is finished with minor touchups needed + mirrors and tailpipe. the model is just under 5000 polys with wheels my last figure of 900 polys was for half of the model my misstake.

Just do it. I'm sure you can get online anywhere.
I'm assuming you're in the USA. AOL (yeah, i hate them too) will get you online through out the whole world. My sister use to work for the government and never had a problem getting online anywhere with AOL world wide.
I know you need to do your job, but UW could very well turn out to be huge. You and your team need to pimp it more!

That really doesn't matter, Mark Rein said he wasn't letting us sumit a new version for the grand finales. It's just being judged on the Phase 4 Entries.

Were did you hear that PX, Last I talked to shrimp we were able to submit a new version, why would there be a deadline for the finals if they just judge what was already submitted for phase 4, its invite only its not like there are going to be any new entries.
I want to see where you got this info, makes no sence to me :(

War_Tourist, producer for Epic Games, made a forum post on the Atari forums with some new information about the upcoming Grand Finals of the Make Something Unreal Contest:
There's most likely not going to be an extension. We've also decided that all finalists are available to submit in the grand finals. Epic will still pick the 'finalists' of the grand finals before announcing the overall contest winners.

I thought it meant there wasn't likely going to be an extension to let modders release a new version for the Grand Finals.

Oh btw jerdaygo my maps are in the beta testers folder, and the bug tracker is down atm.
