Ok so I'm not the only one who can't get onto ETG.

I saw a commercial for Battlestar Galactica today on the Sci-Fi channel. Ironically enough too I read a article about it on CNN.com.

How close is it to the 70's version of the show that aired for only one season?

There's a new Battlestar Galactica? W00T! \o/

Oooh, I am looking forward to seeing Cylon Basestars again. I totally dig Basestars.

I guess I'll have to pray for a Sharereactor release in the near future.

So we've set out to bring the old boy back to life and give him a new look and a new outlook on life. And we're going to ask him to tell his stories again, from the beginning. Tell them again, but this time go deeper. See, we were young once and when the old guy spun his tales of Apollo and Starbuck, we were satisfied with clear-cut heroes and nakedly evil villains. But we're older now. We've eaten a lot of popcorn over the years. We're ready for a bigger meal. Make the story more complicated. Make the people less black-and-white. Challenge us, provoke us, grab us by the throat with those massive hands and dare us to invest ourselves in flawed characters who face ambiguous choices in an imperfect world. Dare us to root for heroes with all-too-human weaknesses. See if we'll still embrace them if they fall prey to their imperfections.
OMG YES!

It's a miniseries, but I understand they want to make a new series if it's successful:

OMG what have they done to Starbuck?

Now that I have looked at most of the website I have mixed feelings about it. I have mostly seen pictures of humans, not much to see, but they did make some drastic changes.
The usual grand words are used, exciting and shocking stuff and all that.
At least the little I have seen so far looked good.

I can tell you that we intend to approach the music from an altogether unique and unusual standpoint as it relates to other science-fiction series on television.
W00t! Now that's unexpected. Even the music is totally unique.

Alas, there will be no Muffit.
\o/

I haven't caught up with Enterprise much beyond the pilot. What I saw indicated to me a very successful evolution of what that franchise has always done well.
Ah - my heart, my brain! It hurts.

Great series so far. I'm so glad they got rid of the sappy comic reliefs like they had in the original series. Still having a hard time with Starbuck being female, but she plays the role good and she's certainly NOT an eyesore =D If anything they should've kept Starbuck a guy and introduced a new female character that would've been Starbuck's rival. But it's a very minor issue with me and so far the series rocks.

My friend Nicole and I were discussing this and we were thoroughly annoyed by Starbuck's being female and the fact the the Cylons had gone all Replicant. To be fair, I haven't seen the miniseries yet, and I will watch it and judge it on its own merits, but the burning question is....WHERE THE HELL IS JOLLY?????

I didn't like the idea that the Cylons have been created by humans in the first place either. There were quite a few things I didn't like so much, but I wouldn't miss the chance to see a cool new Galactica.

Saw it last night, I thought I had missed it, but turns out I didnt, so yay for me. But anyways, I enjoyed watching it. The acting was a bit weak but the story line remained interesting for the whole show so that made up for it. Suffice to say I can't wait to see part two tonight.

[comicbook guy] An annoyance is that they "CLAIM" that they are explaining the origins of the Cylons as bieng human built because the origin of the Cylons was never explained in the original series. However they are wrong. In an early episode of the series, Apallo explains to Boxie that the Cylons are indeed not Human built but were built by a reptillian species that called themselves the Cylons. The reptilians found the humanoid shape to be the most efficent and copied it for their robot creations. They later died out and their robot legacy adopted the name Cylon from there. Ah yes, cultured folk who can appreciate a little BSG! I've seen people take verbal dumps on it elsewhere. Chalk this up as another reason why I love you guys so much. :D
