It's huge and not the most playable, but it's freakin georgeous! a true masterpiece of map design from a visual standpoint.

I concur, it is fucking great! it is one of the best made maps I have ever seen. The great thing is, it play smooth as silk on my machine! Get it even if you can't run it in a game, just stare at it!

Just spent a little while running around this map. I swear it must be the best castle map around! Haven't tried it w/ bots yet, but Jesus, the castle just seems to nice to shoot up like that. Maybe I'll reserve it as my own little "meditation" place... /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

With my PIII 450 (128M) and a Voodoo 3-3000 the map is playable with a bot or 2(with some slowdowns in larger rooms and outside). But I doubt it would be very good with a lot of players and/or online.

now if you have an Athalon 1Ghz, with lots of memory and a Voodoo 5 then I bet it plays nice /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Just a performance question

Which card runs UT faster/more beautifuly,
the Voodoo 5 5500 with Glide and FSAA, or the GeForce2 GTS with its raw performance?
(I didn't include the Geforce FSAA, because from what I have seen it just doesn't compare, and a higher resolution is better)

30 bucks a month? haha, that's what I pay in Canadian currency. Actually 28.50. Let's see what that works out to american... $19.37. I thought it was lower than that, around 16 or so. Oh well. You, my american friend, are getting gyped. I pay a total of 34 bucks a month for the full VIP package. That's all the basic, regular and premium cable channels plus cable internet access. I really hate Rogers, but I love them at the same time. Get a package deal. You get free porn with it, pretty cool.

my com took forever to precache it and was still precaching for a while when i was running around outside for a while... but it is massive and how high is that tower, btw...

Mojo. Sounds like you gots yourself a damn fine deal, I've been talking to other yanks with cable modems and it seems like I'm getting the bottom end of average. Some guys are paying $50/mo and upload speed is only 128k. I thinking about moving to Santa Fe, NM and they don't have any cable or DSL for the home (they do have 192k ISDN for over $100/mo, what a fuckin rip!) I'm hoping that they'll get that Sprint BroadBandDirect (see it here http://www.sprintbroadband.com/what/index.html ) since the telephone infrastructure in SF sucks (I think it was built by the spanish when they took the town over from the Puebelos in like the 1500s).

To be fair, my wife does allow me to indulge one expensive hobby (look at my sig).

If I had to choose between the computer and the car, I think I'd take the car (no matter how realistic INF and NFS Porsche Unleashed are, nuttin' beats hitting the twisties with the top down /infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif )

And a 914 is not that expensive a car, but it's old, and it's a long way from stock /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

don't feel to bad though, being in Canada and NOT having cable TV makes you a freak show. whenever i go to the states or the uk and i here people about how they can't wait to get cable soon, i laugh my ass off just because up until i was like 15 I assumed cable was just cable, like a phone line - everybody but the most poor had it. That's why we get it so cheap, we have coaxial lines coming out the ass.

But if I wanted isdn, that would run me like 500 a month. no exaggeration.

I've had cable TV constantly since I was like 12 (and I'm 31 now) One of the problems with the way cable works here in the US is that in most areas (except for some of the biggest cities) you have 1 cable company per area, so there's no real competition (well, other then DSS, which sucks for internet).
Believe me, if there was a better deal available, I'd have it (especialy if there was porn!)
