Needs more servers though i absolutely love the rocket bike i can shoot straight up and cross as far as i can go in 5 seconds it rocks :D

Are there any plans to get an official server?

OK some criticisms:

1 The baracuda gets VERY squirlly some time perhaps it's trying to do a stunt? i mean i'll be on flat ground press left then right then left and it will do a full 360... very annoying when i'm trying to escapte the enemy's base

2 The hud disappears when you press change teams :(

1 the baracuda

Wormey,

The complaint about the barracuda is valid - sometimes it gets away from us, too. We arrived at that style of control after a lot of internal testing, though - we really wanted a level of responsiveness that would allow for quick changes in direction, and awesome impromptu jumps through the air.

The hud disappearing problem sounds like it could be a legitimate bug, which we've never heard about. Can you describe it in a bit more detail? Do you mean the in-game hud (ammo, hp, etc) or the escape-menu hud? Does it ever reappear? We've changed teams a lot without seeing problems, so I'm stumped, myself.

Cheers,
Tom

Heh good news you don't have a bug ;) i realised that when i pressed change teams i press f12 which turns off the radar :( (i'm an idiot) so yeah no bug there... Maybe a stunt button would be nice for when i want to do 360's instead?

Becuase when i cant control the car and i'm trying to steal a clone it gets tough.

Just makes you drive more carefully, or it makes you learn how to drive out of control in such a way as to get away. I really like this style of driving. It almost feels like the Scorpion from Onslaught, or the actual jeeps from BF1942.

Turning in low-grav and doing stunts off various ramp surfaces around the map is great.

The big reason we wanted to leave user-control in for the barracuda is that it makes the handling require a lot more skill, and we were shooting to make control schema that had a nice ramp of 'easy/fun to learn, hard to master.' In addition, the irregular terrain almost demands fine levels of control that a 'spin 360 degrees' button wouldn't allow.

Cheers,
Tom

Speaking of ramps and the barracuda, it seems like sometimes you have to hit ramps (the bridge being a big one for me) just right, otherwise you jump to a halt and have to get back up to speed again. There are some rock places that _look_ fine but give you a little halt too. Is this some invisible geometry stuff, bad things happening with the static meshes, or is it just my bad driving?

Kerjo,

In many cases, what you're probably seeing is static mesh collision issues. There are some bits of the map that we've intentionally made not easily jumpable (such as the rocks bordering the lip of the canyon), for gameplay reasons. The bridge ramp, however, is just suffering from strange collision problems. We've hammered on it for a while, and most of the time it works fine. However, you might sometimes get caught up on it strangely. That, at least, isn't due to bad driving. :)

Cheers,
Tom

Okay, I'm glad it isn't just my skills (or lack of). The lip of the canyon is what I was talking about, coming right side from blue base. The broken bridge seems to work well if you go on a side. I looked a little closer (before I got a few rockets shot at me) and it looks like there is something in the middle of the bridge, which is all fine and dandy if I know about it and other people don't :). Thanks Tom.
