auto bailout

I had a great idea for the auto bailout which would work awesome.
Instead of just giving the car makers the 700 billion, buy 700 billion dollars worth of cars and trucks. That puts all the workers and suppliers to work and puts money back into the local economy. That would buy you about 35 million+ cars and trucks. Then, sell lottery tickets to win the cars and trucks. Tickets for like $100.00 with a 1 in 45 chance to win a new car. If you win the car you pay the tax on it. You would make back the 700 billion within the first year and the car companies would be back on their feet by producing products instead of a handout that you KNOW they aren't going to pay back.

sounds funny but this would only mean that the big expected collpase will be postponed for a year or so.

What the car companies need to realise is that they have to move with times.

The auto industry has seen this coming since the gas shortages and recession of the 1970's. They dropped the ball repeatedly and they deserve to lose everthing, along with the unions that prevented change.
