I suppose we'll have to justify their use as "hunting weapons"...Seriously though..Something firing that fast is basically a really big, accurate shotgun..I can't imaging a burst lasting more than .5 of a second...Just point it in the general direction of the target. Fire, and 8,000 bullets hit your target. (Do the math, it's scaaaary) I think the ammo considerations would make it impractical for unspecialized vehicles, (Though I'd love to see one on a attack helicopter, as if the guns they use now aren't ridiculous enough) And I cringe to think what they would do as a fixed implacement. (Think about assaulting a machine gun nest with that thing installed.) However, it sure would kick ass employed as an anti-missile point defense system.
