You know, I've never, as long as I can remember, had to moderate this forum.. Now people are bringing to my attention that the community think's it's ok to degrade women at the level you see in fucking grade school.. is that the age group you all are at? Is that how you want to be treated? Seriously- you can talk about hot chicks, but leave it at that. Stop as soon as you let us all know how beautiful you think some female is. Use some common sense.. I always said anything goes here, but I lied- don't degrade women- don't vomit out your racist beliefs- I don't want to read about your kiddie porn or your desire to shoot up a public place.. Because this forum software sucks so much, I'm the only one on the team that can moderate- and the more time I'm doing that because people are acting like fucking morons, the more I'm away from working on 2.8- which pretty much pisses me off to no end.

The last thing I want is to put an end to free speech, but consider this Off Topic forum a privaledge and not something you were born with. I'm pretty sick of tripping on people's common sense as I walk in here..

Solution to use/abuse of message boards

This might seem to be a bit of a drastic measure to solve Warrens' (and the rest of the teams)message board problems but anyway here it is.....

Why not close down the message boards untill after 2.8 has been released? It is obvious that the team does not have time to both work on INF 2.8 and moderate the message boards. Once 2.8 is out they (the team) would have more time to moderate the boards and sort out their problems with the message board software.

The content of the last few days posts has had very little if anything to do with INF (fair enough , the O/T doesnt have to have anything to do with INF but over the last few days it has become filled up with posts filled with childish rubbish and people who seem to be intent on getting more stars under their name)

I remember a mention in one of the INF forums a while back that we try to moderate ourselves , and to be fair , alot of people have put an extra bit of thought into their posts before they click on the "Post now" button. There just seems to be a select few who are unable to abide by this unwritten rule.

Thanks for reading this post , and please dont flame me (too much) .... I'm just expressing my opinion on a possible and fesable solution.

Well, closing down ALL the forums might be a little extreme. If they were to close down the message board, they should at least leave the O/T forum open. I, like many people, come here simply to chat amongst friends. The majority of users treat these boards with respect and abide by the rules the INF team have laid down. We shouldn't lose all this simply because of a few bad apples.

Yes it would be an extreme measure and I realise that it is only a "few bad apples" that are abusing the boards _but_ it is one of the few ways to stop the boards being dragged down to the same low level that others have managed to achieve.

Well? To me that sounds like there are some problems with having more than one moderator...
The appointed moderators of this forum have cursed and very nearly committed serious offences against their computers in vain attempts at moderating certain posts. When InfoPop fixes this bug you will see an upswing in moved and locked topics.

Now, I wish to commend the Infiltration Team for having the best and most mature forum in this part of cyberspace. Also the community in general should have a piece of the praise for it is, after all, the community who abides by the rules the team has set.

It is a good idea for some forum members to do the moderating. Katton and Dark Knight, hmmm... difficult choice.
