Tool: 3DS Max .ASE Format MilkShape 3D Exporter for Unreal Engine Games
    Version: 2
    Release Date: 9 October 2010
    Author: Meowcat

    Hello All,
I know there are a few other MilkShape3D modelers out there who will hopefully find this exporter useful. I have heard complaints that the .ASE exporter included with MS3D version 1.8.5 did not quite work as expected (I could not even get MS3D 1.8.5 to run on my machine).

Unlike the .lwo exporter, this one preserves smoothing groups (or rather the .ase format does) and also supports the "MCD" tags to create simplified collision models.

Revision 2 supports crude vertex painting to allow for the use of Vertex Blending on export.

This exporter should export in a .ase format compatible with the newer Unreal Engine games (though currently only tested on UT2k4). Please let me know if you encounter problems.

[EDIT Updated Link] Download the Exporter Here

New version has been uploaded, see first post. Revision 2 of the exporter allows you to use Vertex Blending on the exported models from Milkshape3D. Simply create the model, place a single bone/joint in the model, and assign all vertices that should show the alternate color to the bone.

[EDIT] Added the exporter as an attachment here.
