ARKAOS : a singleplayer Total conversion for Unreal 2 needs help !

Hi folks !

We're CG graphists from France and Quebec, and we're working during our leisure time on ARKAOS : a singleplayer adventure/action Total conversion for Unreal 2, based on - we hope so - an original story ;)

The mod has been in progress for the past six months, and although we are very close to the end (70% done) with custom 3d models, characters, textures, animations, design, sounds and music, we are holding back the beta archive untill our official website launches soon.

We are in need of some talented help. We currently need :
UnrealEd coders to finish the conversion
a couple of beta-testers
a french/english translator for all the dialog stuff.

So - you guys have a bunch of maps, models, skins, etc - but no code? Some code?

Do you have a design doc which outlines the gameplay?

Hi !

Well, as you could see in screenshots, I found no problem with Golem stuff and GAL langage, animations, dialogs tree, scripted events, IA coding and pawn scripts, but I am CG artists and no professional coder, and I encountered a few problems and found absolutely NO help in the available online docs, forum or tutorials !

Unreal2 script is a little different from UT, and there's a lack of docs specialy writen for unreal2... :mad:

So, what we're expecting from a coder is to help us e.g. with melee weaponery, absolutely non-existent in Unreal2 ! We've already made axes and swords, but :
- the 3rd-person melee weapon models flashing weird colours when enemies are holding them
- when you hit the fire button when using melee weapon like a sword, it performs the attack instantly - as in damage is done at the point under the crosshairs before you actually swing the sword. and I have absolutely no idea why they do that.
- and it would be nice to have better melee weapons witch can use localised damage and blocking...

We also need someone to customise or change HUD and GUI display (far out of my poor coding knowledge), and someone to take care of Matinee sequences.

And of course we need a translater french/english !! all my dialogs are still in french and playing to an adventure game in a foreign language... well, forget it. You'd probably end up saying to one of those guard guys "Yes, I *do* want you to cut my head off with that axe", without knowing it. :D So we need someone who knows english gramar well, not like the jam I'm currently speaking, sorry about that.
