Any update?

Unreal 2k4 came out, and it looks great!
When is the new version of the runtime coming out?
Are you guys planning to release the new version of the runtime? ;-)
the current runtime has some issues with networking and i want to know the new release date of the runtime if possible.
Thanks.

There'll be an updated version of the current Runtime build at some point in the near future. It'll fix all the known issues, including network spawning, music playback, etc.

None of these issues are critical, however, and you can fix them all yourself with UnrealScript or with the replacement libraries I've linked to in the past.

The post-UT2004 version of the Runtime probably won't be out for several months, as there hasn't been an "official" engine release based on it, and there's no ETA on that yet.

Thanks Vito.
Few questions
I read your post and it said to do some of the following but i do not understand thoroughly.

1. You said to change the md5 file. How do you do that?

2. I connected to the Runtime server and it seemed to download something but couldnt not play in the game. Is it the fix for the networking and spawning?

I really want to get this Runtime working in a networked environment.

Thanks.

For #1, you need to update your MD5 file before clients will be able to connect to you, for security reasons.

del packages.md5
ucc mastermd5 -a *.u

That technically only needs to be done on the server, but if you're redistributing stuff, might as well do it anyway.

I don't understand your question for #2, but yes, the .u it downloads (that actually gets stuck in your cache directory) has a sample multiplayer spawning fix. You won't be able to use it wholesale, since it's specific to the Runtime demo map, but you can read it and use it as an example for your own GameInfo.
