As of today infgermany is running Qvalidate and UTDC

Some of you are maybe expierencing issues when connecting.
In this case please download following files:

    QValidate111_client.zip
    UTDCv13b.zip

Extract these files to you UnrealTournament\System directory

If you like to check/correct your UT installation for correct registry entries:
    utcheck.zip

You will find more information here

    Take care,
    ExBeginner

Awsome! Could you lay out some of the things it "takes care of"? Might help convince other admins to use it too.

that link to INFGermany it says it eliminates:
    wall hacks,
    aimbots,
    linux,
    windows 98 users,
    mac clients

kudos, nothing makes me more mad then a game full of cheatin' aimbotters and cheeky Apple PC owners. good riddance to bad rubbish.

    ________________
    edit:
ok, on a more serious note they said:
"wall hacks, aimbots and other cheats."
'other cheats' I assume refers to various health/armor cheats out there.

wallhacking is probably the most common form of cheating I have seen, unfortunately if the cheater is doing it thru the video card then there isnt much that verifying the UT installation can do about it. :(

This step was unfortunately needed since it became obviose that
a few people were abusing wallhacks & aimbots.

Unfortunately Win98 users won't be able to join anymore, however we believe
it is the best way to protect the community.

Let's observe the behavior of the server and it's people for a while before
we are going to make suggestions.

lt. explained it already, there is nothing more to add.

For those who have knowledge on how to bypass the anti cheat tools,
please share with us (so that we can improve) .... but please NOT in public ;-)

    Cheers,
    ExBeginner

You guys know that a low-level aimbot can just reskin all the players and move your mouse based on the player colors that appear on the screen? I don't think that can really be circumvented.

The bots that were tested could be blocked by the current combination of anticheat tools. If you know/have any specific stuff that can overcome the setup please let us know (not in public of course)

Obviously the whole 'hackfree' initiative won't stop people with good coding abilities (I assume they are too busy with creating nice enhancements anyway ;) ). Its meant to block the majority who just googles 'aimbot' and downloads that stuff.

So why are you blocking windows 98 users?

Its not that win98 or Linux are meant to be blocked. Its a glitch of the tools, we are trying to fix it, but it is difficult to say the least

TDM attracts the worst kind of crowd... cheaters.

Know what the best cheat prevention is? EAS :p

INF uninstalled. Long live the INF. In case I feel nostalgic I still got old UT and XP crap. Thanks for all good games guys.
Good luck with keeping the game clean. There's nothing more annoying than cheaters. Compared to them ... even spawnkillers are angels.

P.S.: If you are into realism and don't mind if it's ww2-Eastern front try RO 3.1 for Ut2004. I meet quite some INF players there. And it's always nice to see old faces + INF crowd is in 90% cases great bunch to play with.

Sorry to hear that Life. I tried RO a little but I still prefer INF. Currently its just the n1 and 121st server running anticheat, so you should be able to play. (DTAS on JgKDo and TDM ob FOOl or NA)

We are on it to grant access to everyone , I keep you updated

Unfortunately there seems to be no proper fix :(

We'll discuss wether to shut it down completely or live with the restrictions that are imposed...

Believe me I'm really sorry for you guys... but its a difficult issue. I keep you updated.

P.S. maybe you wanne start to dig up some old windows-install cd's ... ;)

Unfortunately the only copy of windos I have own is 98SE and from what I see that won't work either. :(

Please don't give up there must be a way round it.

P.s. I don't want to give up my beercoasters like that.

Seems like proper installed Win98 does work (although I can't guarantee but some claim to be able to join the server)

The whole anticheat stuff is dll based, so there's hardly an approach to make it work on non-windows os

Our admin tested a whole pile of anticheat tools , but they either do a bad job in blocking or don't work with Linux/Mac etc. (any advise/recommendation is higly appriciated) We keep watching out for other stuff but I don't think there is much progging activity for old UT...

Only 'fix' I can think of is using a windows emulation on the client :hmm:
