Anti TCC 2009

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. Oh boy, a new antitcc. My money says it does the exact same thing as previous versions. In that it'll just waste bandwidth/space while occasionally kicking for only false positives instead of cheats

Always the constant complaining about lag and other vaguely defined problems. No wonder most anticheat designers have decided to simply quit. It's easy to critisize but making something like this that performs well on a virtual machine with no support for native libraries is a difficult task. Plus, games in the UT series seem to allow multiple exploits which you or any other player isn't aware about because they've always played on protected servers.

In short, if you find it fun to play on a server where several people are cheating (that was the situation after the first ut came out) then be my guest and open a plain vanilla server with no AC on it at all.

New release 3 available.

What has changed since release 2?
  • Fixed the SET command filter, which incorrectly blocked "set Input [key] [command]".
  • Fixed a default prefetch check entry that could possibly cause false positives.
  • Improved key reset code for Input Inconsistency checks.
  • Addressed some crashes related to replaced shadow projectors (client) and cleanup of player ID log files. (server) Not sure if those are actually fixed now or were just symptoms of other problems.
  • The server's current and maximum tick rate is now displayed in the server details box of the server browser and mid-game menu rules tab.
  • Fixed not being able to look up or down when standing on moving vehicles.
  • Fixed not being able to fire while driving vehicles
  • Sanity check: Prevented running Anti TCC and SafeGame at the same time - they are simply not compatible.
  • Fixed client demo playback view direction.

Are there any known bugs in this release?
Unfortunately, yes:
  • The way Anti TCC secures the console breaks admin menu commands of UT2Vote up to version 57 and some other mods. (These mods access the console though InteractionMaster.Console, which conflicts with Anti TCC's secured console feature. This must be fixed in those mods, I can't do anything about it.)

Man that's harsh.Come into his thread just to say "Ur works r teh suk".I mean I too feel the extra weight on some servers when ANTI-TCC is running,but that the server could be part of that as well.Furthermore I will take the extra few ms if it means the game I'm in is a little more secure.

I'm just thankful to have some kinda support for 2k4 especially since UT3 has been out for over a year now and Epic really never has cared too much about game security from what I've seen.

Release 4 is out.

What has changed since release 3?
  • Fixed a rotation lock problem that could affect player rotation on end of AVRiL lock.
  • Fixed a display bug in the WhoWas command.
  • In Assault, the ResetTimeDelay is only extended to at least 15 seconds if the practice round is disabled.
  • Long ambient sounds are only disabled if the client has disabled music.
  • Unknown classes in packages that don't exist on the server will no longer be reported if the package is in the list of MD5 checks. This means you don't need to install voice and announcer packs on your server anymore just to allow them on clients. A QuickMD5 (or FullMD5) entry will be enough to "whitelist" them.
  • Added detection and workaround for player slot exploits.
  • Merged in Custom Punishments code. Admins (including silently logged-in ones) can now slap or kill annoying players.
  • Improved efficiency of blacklisted keybind detection.
  • Added 'Mutate AntiTCC GetServerTickRate' (or 'GetServerTickRate' for short), which will display the server's current tick rate in the console.

In the meantime, ProAsm updated his mods to work with Anti TCC's secured console.

My question when it comes down to AntiTCC is- How do you clear your old player IDs?

I used to play a lot and now every server admin can easily identify me by my old name... Not that I would ever cheat or anything, thats not the problem. The problem is that it just gets annoying to have someone shout out who you are and everyone gets all excited and wonders why I now suck =d.

So, what files do I have to delete, etc. to clear my name log?

agreed, glad its still being updated, thankfully i think most of the cheaters/problem starters have gone onto other games (or more competitive gametypes) but its always handy to have =]. and that guy who is slagging of Anti-tcc , coders put ALOT of time into creating things for us for FREE. whether it sucks or not in your opinion is irrelevent you should appreicate the time they have spent on the commuity.

Other AntiTCC version's classes are always considered "unknown" because only one version should ever be loaded at a time. The only reason they are caught once in a while are other buggy mods that prevent complete garbage collection of the previous map, e.g. after switching servers.

R6T1 was the first semi-public test version for the new release. I'll push out R6T3 within the next few days and hopefully the new release early in January.

Ah good to hear. I know what you do is underappreciated but any little thing helps. Heck 3-4 tammers caught in the last month alone by anti-tcc in the few servers I regular so atleast it still works against the dumb people.
