Right start off by downloading or buying a modeling program like max 5, maya, softimage or milkshape(being the cheepest). The then download that ut2003 player model rigs, and start editing them. Good animation tutorials should come with the package you chose to download. Learning to animate is not easy, and will take you a good few weeks to even get the basics right.

^ What he said, and uh yeah I know that u can't make 2d animations in 3d but uh maybe this pic will help... explain what the heck am talkin about

Ok you see that little guy down there with the shock rifle making a shock combo.... alright if anyone has played mega man x (doubt anyone has :/ ) Am trying to reproduce the dashing animation/sprite effects in that game and basically replace ut2k3's hoping forward animation (you know when u double tap forward or back.... ect) with a dashing animation mega man x style.

I always see people recommending milkshape, and after playing with it a while ago it seemed kind of easy to use. But has anyone actually used it in ut2003? I'm not sure if .psk and .psa files are even used anymore and whenever I see someone as a modeller what program they use it's always 3dsmax.
