AirBuccaneers 4.0 - better than you think!

I dowloaded this mod when it was released, in the beginning I didn't really understand much but when I went throu the tut things started to clear up. It's a really cool mod where you are either the peasents or buccaneers in a tdm enchanted with fireworks as weapons and large ballons mounted with either 1 or 4 cannons depending on the size of the ship.

One has to steer some has to aim with the cannons and a few other gt load and light the cannon. Teawork when it is at its best. I suggest you download this mod right now. If you take your time to learn it you will not be dissapointed!!

And no, it isnt all about flying, you as a person can be mounted with a sword, exploding powder rocketgun-thingie and more, you can even leap towards an enemy ballon and trow a rope o you can get up there, kill the crew and take command of the ballon!

I remember when you used to have destroy buildings in the first 2003 version! I'm downloading now! It looks like it's far improved and sounds better! I only played it over a lan previously! Flying and shooting from a balloon single handedly was tough but i kicked his butt i might add! :D SOunds good if it's got populated servers i'm there baby! Oh yeah!

The suggestion that it has a bit of bot support is also promising!

Yes but make sure you give it sometime, it can be easy to not see its glance in only one game... try to get on the Big SHip along with at least 4 teammembers. Be the driver, be the aimer or just help out by reload and lit the cannon as rapid as possible. Teamwork is one with this modd!

This game will never get anywhere in a pub. You're better off just getting in your own raft and trying to do everything yourself because your teammates are worthless. I give this mod a 4/10

Your optimisitc, and your wrong.
Suprisingly, with this mod, once people know what the hell there doing they auctually use teamwork. I guess such a high ammount of teamwork is required people are auctually forced to use it to get anywhere (Once they know what there doing).
I would give it a 7.5/10 if the people your playing with know what there doing and a 6/10 if they dont know what there doing.
I would like to see some sort of system that allows to customise the airship, or add more and diverse airships.

I saw him online, don't think he played more than 2 games, and he didnt try to communicate with anybody...

And as MegaManInferno said, if you compare this game to the original ut2004 or onslaught, its quite advanced so give the noobs some time... try it again in a couple of days or something.

I played 3 games and the tutorial. People knew how to fire, how to fly etc, nobody knew where to go, how to work as a team so that you can get shots off and actually hit someone. It was get in a balloon and fly about aimlessly for a few minutes.

Wll guess you're an exception then, cause I've had great teamwork most of my games... going with the big battleship, 2 who aim and 2 who constantly load and lit... while I steer and tell the crew which side to arm!

Downloaded yesterday. At first I sucked hard, but at the end of the day I was a balloon pirate to be reckoned with. Teamwork is a must if you want to kick ass. Just a small one cannon balloon can require at least 3 people to function well. A whole 16 man team can fit on the large one. I love boarding enemy balloons, killing everybody, and stealing their balloon to get closer to more enemies. Awesome, addicitive, good fun.

I especially like how combat is slow paced. Has a feeling of those old time ship battles. Running on the ground is a pain in the ass. The maps are huge and look cool, but I can't figure out why the hell water acts like lava. Touch it and you're dead.

Great sounds. Reminds me of the 4th of July with all those floating mine launchers firing everywhere.

Balloons act realistically. You actually feel like you're riding the wind rather than an invisible rail. When two crash into each other it gets pretty chaotic.

To conclude, Air Buccaneers is another MUST HAVE mod. Not just for UT regulars like us, but everybody should check this thing out. It's cooler and more fun than most mods across the board.
