AFA ballistics?

Please tell me it is not my imagination that the AFA server has different bullet ballistics than default servers. On RtK I seem to find my bullets dropping waaay more than on other servers like TeamMUF. Is it a mutator, a server setting, or just my imagination?

This is news to me. Having played both servers I can say that I haven't noticed any difference with the ballistics. In fact you have to shoot over quite a large range to notice the bullet drop from a 5.56mm weapon.

AFAIK, both AFA servers use the default ballistics of INF2.9. We've made no changes.
Also for future reference, please specify which server you are having a problem with.

AFA INF 2.9 EAS Svr or AFA3 INF2.9 Specialist Svr

I just found out that I forgot to transfer the ballistic zeros over for the new bulletsounds projectile. Any server running this mutator will have weapons (notably sniperrifles) zeroed at shorter ranges. Sorry about this, I'll try to get a corrected version out when I get time. (am in the middle of finals)
Guess I'll increase the volume of impact sounds with it as well...

TY for clearing this up. And all you others should be ashamed. :mad: Not only did you make me doubt myself, you haven't been paying enough attention in your marksmanship to notice!! :p

I was wondering this myself...
I remember the first online session I played, and one of the first maps (if not even the first) was on RtK and I was sniping with great success. But lately (on AFA I suspect) I really had difficulties compared to that first session. Like 2-3cm elevation correction with Robar on RtK. I thought it was somewhat realistic but without mildots on the recticule(sp?) rather difficult.
Either way is ok, just wish for consistency but I have all the faith in you yurch that you can fix it :)

I'd like to point out that a fixed version is availible in the zip file in my sig.
GD, AFA and whatever other servers are running the old bulletsounds1 should upgrade to bulletsounds2 immediately.

LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good catch KW, and thanks for clearing it up Yurch! I was about ready to uninstall 2.9, since I play primarily on the AFA servers and was getting so honked off about my extraordinarily horrible play lately! (worse than usual)

BTW, thanks AFA, great job on your servers.

Only one thing: the UTCompass wasn't working tonight. Is it removed or does the server need reset with the mutator on? Just a comment. I rely pretty heavily on that thing. I had three tk's in one round, with only a total of 6 ppl playing last night. :lol:
