What's this? Doing away with my grumpy face? That right there should red flag you that something is wrong.

Today I swung by The Stile Project, as usual, and found something there that disturbed me. Normally Stile posts things that are fucked up, but obviously faked (such as the "snuff") videos or people doing stupid things by their own volition and thus suffering the consequences. However, today he had some material up there that made me think.

edit: I decided to bypass the site directly so that you can more easily access the media yourself

***WARNING!***

Don't go there if you're sensitive to actual torture and murder. No, I'm not kidding. You better be mature if you click on that link. These are videos posted by The Independent Information Center of Chechen Repuclic and are very shocking and disturbing.

the videos, all available in two resolutions

I post this to show you the genuine horrors of war. This is some sick shit. If you feel detached from violence and the horrors that go on in the world, this will act as a STRONG wake up call. This is very disturbing stuff. You do, however, have the right to know.

Now why doesn't NATO step in for this? Because NATO doesn't have economic or political interests in this. If the end of human suffering can't be measured in dollars and sense, its not worth the "valuable allocation of military resources."

This is disgusting stuff.

Why post it man, I have seen shit like that in real life and quite frankly I dont need to see it again. But I just dont think that kind of stuff belongs at the INF boards.

Tough stuff for sure... its posted here because its not related to INF, exactly what the off topic board is for. I think everyone needs a good dose of the reality of war as well. I do question the sites interest in posting the videos as well, seems a bit voyeuristic, kinda like the 'faces of death' garbage. Regardless of that fact, the content speaks for itself, regardless of who or how its presented.

I posted the stuff, because, well, you have the right to know. I actually wondered through the site in question, it appears to be an idependent news site, not affiliated with Russia or Chechnya. I think the reason why they post this stuff is to show that 1) the media hasn't displayed full coverage of all the horrors that go on "behind the scenes", and 2) to show that neither side is innocent of the war crimes. Alot of people have felt that Russia was putting a lot of spin on its slaughter of civilians, siding with the Chechnyan "freedom fighters"... its this same rebels that beat children and shoot the fingers off of men. They have alot of Russians doing things to Chechnyans too.

As one who is not normally put off by the sight of violence and gore, I decided to check these videos out.

After watching a knife being plunged into the side of a man's neck while he attempts to scream and gargles his own blood, the blade violently thrusting forward and tearing his neck open....

Fuck, I don't know exactly what I feel. The savagery and heartless brutality of such an act makes me sick. I'm just glad it wasn't in color. My knees feel weak and my stomach is turning, I feel my teeth biting down on my inner lip as my fists clench.

Bad.Mojo's warning is an understatement. I don't think I'm gonna sleep too well tonight

I think the most disgusting part of that video came at the very end, when his throat has been cut entirely open, but you can still hear him breathing through ragged gasps because the back of his head containing his spinal column is still attached, still telling his lungs to breath.

That was disturbing, to say the least.

I don't think I even want to see it. By the way Bad.Mojo, as I recall NATO was wrong actually ENTERING the bombing campaign in the first place, simply because its stated objectives is to only use force when the security of one of the nations under its umbrella is threatened. The problem being of course, who else would? Russia would veto any UN attempts.

So the question is; who in this day and age can you trust to police the world? It's been proved that the US only goes in if it actualy serves its own interests, while the UN's record is going down and down and down (I'l admit that they do do some good, but they're not squecky clean by any stretch of the imagination). The problem with allowing NATO the ability to police the world is that its too westernised.

Took a look at one of the clips, and that was enough. I braced myself, having read what others have said earlier in this thread. But even so, I wasn't prepared for the sheer gruesome reality of the clip. I realized intellectually that this kind of thing is not uncommon in our world. But to actually see it brings it home in a way I didn't expect.

I honestly don't know what else to say, other than may God have mercy on our world...

Well, at least A9 gets the idea of the post...

As for God's mercy, we abandoned God along time ago, we're all going to hell.

Going to hell? I think not!

Bad Mojo we are not going to hell for the sole reason that we are already in hell right now. This reminds me of the garden of Eden story where man is given paradise by God only to fuck it all up. We all are given this wonderful world that has the potential to be something great...only to turn it into absolute hell.

I for one DIDN'T check out those videos because frankly I couldn't handle them. I almost passed out during the fricken birth video at school. Birth is not a beautiful thing...maybe in concept...but not fun to watch.
