Even though UT has great out-door effect, it is in effect still a "dungeon" game. The combat infiltration appears (in my own devine opinion /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif ) to be about is close quarter fighting.
That's the AT-4 was removed; as the game isn't big enough or have the right engine to include freakin' fully controlable APCs, T-84s and Abrahams, it's pointless to have a weapon such as laser guided bombs.
The exception, of course, is when you have as your mission a goal to get int a position where you can call down an airstrike on a particular target. Remember that airstrikes aren't "instantaneous", they require the above fighter-bomber to make a run, dodge SAMS and AA etc.
Therefore as an weapon against infantry it's pointless and also extreme; unless of course you're surrounded and calling down an airstike upon yourself (Forest Gump anyone?)
Speaking of Laser-guided, the Israeli army is using lasers that sweep across their installations on the Israeli-Lebanon border to confuse and distract laser guided rockets and bombs that are being fired by the guerillas on the other side.
